Scrum Master Intern

We are adding a Scrum Master Intern to our team to support a large project for our Berlin-based partner. This is a role for someone who enjoys organizing information and keeping projects on track. We are not building flashy social media apps. Instead, we are helping this partner move their complex internal operations from spreadsheets into a custom database and admin system. Because we are a fully remote team, this role is centered on maintaining clear lines of communication between our developers and the partner team in Berlin.

We believe that working code is much more valuable than a complex plan that never gets finished. Our approach is straightforward. We provide fixed quotes, perform weekly demos, and hand over everything (the code, the documentation, and walkthrough videos) once we finish a project.
We use reliable technologies like Node, React, and Postgres because they are stable and easy to maintain. This is a paid internship, and the pay is competitive for the entry-level market.

The Role
As a Scrum Master Intern, you will help us manage the flow of work. You will not be expected to be an expert in software architecture, but you will need to understand how our developers work and what they need to stay productive. Your day-to-day will involve keeping our project boards updated and making sure that every task has the information a developer needs to start working. Since this is a fully remote position, you will be the person who helps bridge the gap between different tasks and ensures nothing falls through the cracks.
You will help prepare for our weekly demos with the Berlin-based partner. This involves checking that the features we promised are ready to show and that the documentation is updated. You will also help organize our daily check-ins to see if anyone is stuck on a technical problem. It is a role about removing small obstacles before they become big delays.

• A basic understanding of the software development process (how code goes from a developer's computer to a live site).

• A preference for practical solutions over complicated theories.

Helpful Background

• Familiarity with project management tools like Jira, Trello, or GitHub Issues.
• A basic understanding of Agile or Scrum principles (even if just from a class or a personal project).
• Exposure to technical tools like GitHub or basic knowledge of what Node and React do.
• Experience coordinating group projects during your studies or in a past job.
• An interest in the business side of software development.
