Internship in Strategic Portfolio Management

Kamstrup Skanderborg, Central Denmark Region, Denmark Internship 4 days ago
Business & Management

Are you motivated by how companies decide which products, technologies, and business opportunities to invest in? Do you enjoy combining market insight, customer needs, financial potential, and strategic analysis to support difficult decisions? Are you looking for an internship where you can contribute to strategic portfolio decisions in Kamstrup’s international Heat/Cooling business?

Here Is What Your Role Entails

As our intern, you will work closely with Strategic Portfolio Management on questions that influence the direction of the Heat/Cooling business. You will contribute to portfolio strategy, evaluate business opportunities, analyse the balance of the portfolio, and help prepare recommendations for prioritisation and investment decisions.

More specifically, you will be:

  • Contributing to the annual portfolio strategy process for the Heat/Cooling business
  • Mapping customer needs, market trends, competitor movements, and technology developments
  • Analysing business opportunities and assessing their strategic fit and value potential
  • Developing business cases, portfolio dashboards, and decision material for management reviews
  • Supporting prioritisation discussions across development initiatives

You will take ownership of analytical assignments and contribute directly to ongoing portfolio decisions. At the same time, you will gain insight into how strategic choices are made across Product Management, Sales, Finance, and Research and Development.

Meet your future team

You will become part of our Product Management Team in the Heat/Cooling department, where you will work closely together with Strategic Portfolio Management. In Strategic Portfolio Management, we challenge ideas, prioritize business opportunities, and then support them as projects on their way to our customers. Using sales numbers, market input, customer interviews, and strategic priorities, we give guidance to the organization on what to build next. We do so by seeking out data and diverse perspectives to challenge each other’s assumptions. Otherwise, we enjoy a relaxed atmosphere, and we are not shy about celebrating successes and learnings along the way.

Less About Us, More About You

We are looking for an ambitious bachelor’s or master’s student who are curious about how companies make strategic investment decisions and motivated by analysing complex questions and turning your insights into clear recommendations.

In order to succeed, we imagine that you:

  • Are currently studying, or have an interest in, International Business, Business Development, Economics, Innovation Management, or Technology Management
  • Have experience with Excel and PowerPoint and are comfortable working with both quantitative and qualitative information
  • Are interested in how AI can be applied in your daily work
  • Can structure ambiguous problems and identify the most important questions
  • Communicate complex insights in a simple and convincing way and thrive when collaborating with stakeholders

As we are an international organisation it is important that you are fluent in English and Danish.

Whilst you may not meet all the qualifications listed above, this is an internship position, and we value curiosity and a willingness to learn just as much as experience. If the role interests you and you are motivated to grow, we encourage you to apply.

We offer more than just an internship

At Kamstrup, your contribution as an intern is highly valued, and we cherish the good colleagueship. Therefore, you will experience an internship with a strong focus on your individual development through challenging tasks, career sparring, voluntary courses, as well as social events and a large network. We are proud, that our internship program has resulted in Studenterhus Aarhus granting us with the Mentor Award, the Internationalization Award, the Jury’s Special Award and the award for East Jutland’s Best Internship.

Besides the best program, we also offer:

  • A gratuity which may be provided in recognition of your efforts if your place of study allows it as well as paid public transportation to and from work
  • Multiple internship events and weekly internship lunches
  • Employee benefits including a healthy canteen, fitness facilities, in-house dental clinic, hairdresser, and a free health clinic
  • An active employee association, that fosters a collaborative and supportive workplace community
