The Professional Development Intern supports the team responsible for development initiatives for McKinsey's European consultants. The role focuses on operational excellence, people initiatives and projects supporting the firm's talent-development strategy.
The intern works with the Consumer, Growth, Marketing & Sales; Social Healthcare and Public Entities; and Life Sciences practices, supporting professional-growth initiatives across the cluster. The team is distributed across Germany, Spain, Poland and Portugal, with collaboration primarily remote, and the role can involve Düsseldorf, Munich and/or Lisbon.
This is a six-month contract requiring approximately 20 hours per week during regular working hours, with flexibility to organise half or full working days around academic commitments and team needs. The intern receives guidance and coaching and gains exposure to professional-development and talent-management activities in an international environment.
The role is suited to someone with a growth mindset and entrepreneurial approach who can work in a high-performance, complex and deadline-driven environment. Requirements include pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree with a focus or strong interest in people topics such as business administration, social sciences or psychology; strong organisation, prioritisation and multitasking skills; ownership and accountability; initiative and reliability; independence; professional communication; analytical and creative thinking; strong Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel skills; interest in IT systems; strong typing and proofreading skills; and strong written and spoken English.
