Fintech Consulting Intern - Data Analytics & Technology

Your responsibilities

As an intern at Lund Consulting, you will solve challenges at the intersection of finance, technology, and analytics. We’re looking for ambitious minds ready to drive innovation and solve challenges for financial institutions.

You will be at the forefront of digital transformation, bridging the gap between complex financial challenges and cutting-edge technical solutions. Your role will focus heavily on advanced data analytics and intelligent workflow optimization. Working closely alongside our experienced consultants, you will have the unique opportunity to translate raw data into actionable strategies, implement robust technical frameworks, and directly drive data-driven impact for our clients.

What you will be doing

• Advanced Data Analysis: Analyze complex client data utilizing Python and in-house tools to extract actionable insights for strategic decision-making.
• Technical Project Support: Assist in designing and implementing technology-driven strategies and solutions for financial institutions.
• Process Optimization: Map and evaluate client workflows to identify technical integration opportunities and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Client Deliverables: Support the creation of client-ready material — structuring storylines, building slides, and preparing analyses for workshops and steering-committee sessions.
• Team Collaboration: Work as part of a project team alongside consultants and client counterparts, contributing to daily stand-ups, internal reviews, and knowledge-sharing sessions.

Your profile

• Academic Background: You are a student or recently graduated in a STEM program and demonstrate strong academic performance.
• Technical Expertise: Solid working knowledge of Python, R, MS Excel, and PowerPoint for quantitative data analysis and structuring professional presentations. Knowledge or initial experience with AI technologies and machine learning applications is highly preferred.
• Drive & Motivation: Genuine interest in technology and financial consulting. Highly motivated to operate in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with the ability to take ownership of your tasks while working closely within a team.
• Communication Skills: Fluent in English; German proficiency is highly advantageous.
• Structured Problem Solving: You break ambiguous problems into logical components, form and test hypotheses, and communicate findings clearly to both technical and business audiences.
• Teamwork & Client Presence: You collaborate effectively in small project teams and are comfortable interacting with client stakeholders in a professional setting.
• Availability: You have completed at least four semesters of study and are available for a full-time internship in Munich (20% remote is possible) of 6 months starting 10/2026. Prior internship experience in consulting, financial services, or technology is a plus.
