ABOUT THE ROLE
The Associate Intern works as an integral member of the deal team, owning core analyses and coordinating selected diligence workstreams under the guidance of senior investment professionals. You will help move opportunities from initial screening through due diligence and execution, and contribute directly to value-creation planning with our portfolio companies. The role suits someone who wants to test themselves in a fast-moving, senior environment where the quality of your judgement matters as much as your analysis. This is a fixed-term internship. Based on performance and mutual fit, OGV may, at its discretion, consider exceptional interns for a full-time role.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Own integrated operating and leveraged buyout models end-to-end, including acquisition financing, debt paydown, returns analysis, downside cases, and key sensitivities.
- Evaluate market structure, competitive positioning, revenue quality, customer concentration, margins, cash conversion, working capital, capital expenditure, debt capacity, and the principal risks to the investment case.
- Coordinate financial, commercial, operational, tax, and legal due-diligence workstreams; maintain issue lists; and liaise with advisers under senior-team supervision.
- Draft investment-committee materials and translate diligence findings into clear recommendations on valuation, structure, risks, and key transaction terms.
- Support management teams and OGV professionals in developing 100-day plans, operating KPIs, portfolio reporting, and value-creation initiatives.
- Support thematic sourcing, target prioritisation, and portfolio-performance analysis.
- Review and provide guidance on work prepared by Analyst Interns when appropriate.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Approximately 1–3 years of full-time experience in private equity, investment banking, transaction services, strategy consulting, or another rigorous transaction-oriented environment.
- Advanced financial-modelling and analytical capabilities, strong accounting knowledge, and the ability to identify the key commercial and financial drivers of an investment.
- Strong written and verbal communication, with the confidence to engage senior stakeholders directly and the judgement to communicate issues promptly and precisely.
- Sound commercial judgement, a high degree of ownership, and a record of producing accurate work under time pressure while managing several parallel workstreams.
- Fluency with modern data and AI tools, together with the ability to automate recurring research, modelling, diligence, or reporting tasks. Experience with scripting, APIs, or workflow-automation tools is strongly preferred.
- Languages: full professional proficiency in English is required; Dutch and/or Danish are a plus.
- Candidates must already hold valid work authorisation for the Netherlands for the full duration of the internship. OGV does not sponsor visas or work permits.
